 Chris Hughes, Ontario City Manager – “What’s Happening in Ontario”Chris Hughes has been in local government nearly 25 years. In 2010, he was unanimously appointed as City Manager by the Ontario City Council. Over the past year, he has successfully started negotiations with the City of Los Angeles to regain local control of the Ontario International Airport to advance the goal of airport regionalization in Southern California. In addition, under direction of the Ontario City Council, his tenure has resulted in many successful milestones including the construction of the Ontario Senior Center Apartments in the Historic Downtown, the investment and revitalization of the Ontario Mills Mall, enhancement of transportation and goods movement within Ontario through major capital projects such as the North Milliken Avenue Grade Separation, as well as the expansion of recreation and community facilities with the rehabilitation and development of Veteran’s Memorial and South Bon View Parks. |
